Addressing the gracious presence of industry leaders from the ICT sector at #elets #eIndia2014 summit, DP Wahlang, Commissioner & Secretary, Department of IT, Government of Meghalaya emphasized about the escalation of e-Governance to m Governance to be need of the hour. In Meghalaya, the tele density is around 70% but the real challenge is telephone connectivity in the state, where, Optical Fibre Connectivity is 20 percent lesser than national average.This gap of 20 percent can be filled up by increasing mobile penetration that at the same time creates opportunities for m governance as well.
