The Government of Puducherry has given utmost priority to the healthcare. We off er free-medicare to all its citi zens. As much as 2.5% of Puducherry’s GDP is being invested on healthcare. Eight to ten per cent of planned budget goes to the Department of Health and Family Welfare. Increasing demand for cardiac surgery and lack of skilled manpower has led to signing of an MoU between the Department of Health and Lifeline Hospital, Chennai on PPP mode.
